Lawson grew and grew and grew. We are now planning his 1st birthday party and are SO excited! In October Lance got a new job (as his other one was not doing well) and we decided to move back to South Dakota. Lance is working in the oil fields of North Dakota and is gone for two weeks and back for two (not exactly but usually pretty close). We moved into Grandma and Grandpa Ulmen's house and LOVE it. We realize however, we can't stay here forever :o( We just found a great house in Rapid City and although I have no job yet we are going to move and hope that I can find one quickly.

OK. Well I started this blog thinking I would keep it updated throughout the rest of my pregnancy and birth of our son but I did not so let me catch you up. The rest of my pregnancy went pretty well. We could tell the baby was going to be a big boy as he was measuring two weeks ahead. Well our due date was Valentine's Day which was oh so very cute... until Valentine's Day came and past and STILL no baby. 6 days after my due date I finished out work (it was a Friday and there was a weekend coming). I was beginning to have regular contractions so I walked across the street to the hospital and they kept me. On Saturday we decided to start pitocin to keep the contractions going strong...which was when I decided it was time for an epidural. Well it happened to be the worst snowstorm of the year. The nurse comes in and says " I just paged the anesthesiologist on call but he has to dig his wife out of the driveway and then will make his way in. He should be here in about an hour and a half." WHAT!?!? Ok so finally I got the epidural and it was amazing. I slept for two hours... woke up and it was time to push. At 5:17 pm our BEAUTIFUL baby boy, Lawson James, was born. He was 8# 4oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. He was considered large for gestational age so had to have some extra blood sugar testing ect... We were thrilled and thought he was the most amazing, beautiful little thing on the planet.
